Our server, Alex, was really spectacular. We were sat at a table near the window-and they pulled out the table so one of us could get into the banquet seat. We were greeted at the host stand in front, and again pleasantly greeted when we got to the top of the stairs. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door.

We were having a super early bird dinner-so there were only a few other diners there when we ate which was really great. We grabbed a drink before dinner in the bar area before heading upstairs for our meal. Milk Chocolate-Pistachio Palette, Pistachio Crunch Ice Cream or Apricot Clafoutis, Almond Milk Sorbet or Citrus Pots de Crème, Tangerine Gelée, Citrus Sorbet, Fennel Crisp Here was their menu:Ĭreamy Cauliflower Soup, Parmesan Tuile or Roasted Caillettes, Frisee, Anchovy, Garlic & Tomato or Seasonal Vegetables, Market Greens, Balsamic Vinaigretteīraised Lamb Neck Ravioli’s, Baby Carrots, Cumin, Lamb Jus or Sautéed Rose Fish, Salad of Fennel, Castel Vetrano Olives & Citrus or Roasted Loin of Pork, Potato Puree, Root Vegetables, Pork Jus We decided to try it out for restaurant week. It was accompanied with ice cream, although a creme anglais would have been better.I have been hearing such good things about the Bistro du Midi. The souffle for dessert was executed well. I ordered it medium rare, it was delivered medium well. The Octopus starter that I had was a reasonable portion. Sauce was spilled on the table where I ate, and it was never removed. A dirty dish rubbed against one of our party's suit coat. There was a lot of noisy clinking of dishes. Dishes were removed and cleared in style that a Denny's night shift waitress would find unacceptable. If I could have gotten someone's attention would have asked for an ice cube to cool it down. They came back with the red wines which were way too warm. The servers figured out they better kill the unserved white, and dumped the ice cold white in our glasses. We ordered red wine by the glass for our second course. Our glasses were empty during our first course. Our glasses were poured, and the wine was tossed in a wine bucket 10 feet away.

We ordered a half bottle of white wine to start. Although the waiter was friendly, he was not focused on us when we needed help. A couple years ago, this place was exceptional.
